Transport Worker Identification Credentials
The federal Port Badge, known as the Transport Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required to access the Port of Pensacola on December 30, 2008. If you need unescorted access to the Port of Pensacola facilities and vessels, the you need a TWIC! The nearest TWIC enrollment centers are located in Panama City, Fl and Chickasaw, Al. Port Security
The Port of Pensacola considers port security vital in an effort to help protect our nation in the defense of Homeland Security. Port Security’s overall objective is to protect port employees, tenants, property and assets which are consistent with Pensacola’s threat level.
Port Security operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hours of Operation (Badges):
Port Badging business hours are 8:00am-5:00pm (0800-1700) Monday through Friday (except holidays). The badging office operates on a walk-in basis (no appointment necessary).
At the badging office, you will:
- Show a valid United States photo ID card (Ex: Driver’s License, State ID Card) or Passport
- Submit your completed application
- Have your fingerprints taken and submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for a criminal history background check.
- Have your photograph taken for the credential process.
Port Security Interfaces:
- United States Coast Guard, which has jurisdiction over the Port Facilities, Vessels, and waterways.
- Customs and Border Protection, which has jurisdiction over entry or exit of persons and cargo in the United States.
- Florida Department of Law Enforcement with jurisdiction enforcement of Florida Statue 311.12.
- Pensacola Police Department which enforces Federal, State and Local laws.
